When this movie came out, I didn’t imagine I’d love it so much. I went to see it in the theater, and I was instantly hooked. From the voices, to the message, to the animations, I REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS MOVIE.
It totally brings out my inner kid. I always imagined when I was little that I had an alien (invisible imaginary friend) named Holly. She wasn’t nearly as destructive… or as inventive.. as Stitch was though.
The premise of the movie is very simple, but the end makes me cry about every (other?) time I watch it, depending on my mood. All of its backgrounds were done with WATERCOLORS. HOW AWESOME IS THAT. It’s such a beautiful animated film. I believe it was the last Disney film to use this technique as well.
It’s also the 42nd Disney full release, according to Wiki. And that makes me giggle.
But yes. I was a bit obsessed with this film. Before I started tremendously downsizing my collection I had 30+ stuffed plush Stitches.
Man, am I glad they could not come to life. They’d have made more of a mess than the cats.
