I can’t ever remember college taking THIS MUCH TIME.
It could be that part of it is taking 5 classes. I usually limit myself to 4 (12 hours), but my very incredible advisor suggested that I take a class solely for fun.
FOR FUN? ME? NEVER. Okay, maybe so. And maybe it’s pushing myself a bit much.
But any class with the name “Fairy Tales” in the title that ends up COUNTING TOWARDS MY MAJOR AS A MAJOR CLASS? (as in, not just a pre-requisite)
It is, in fact, just as awesome as the title suggests. We are studying various Fairy Tales and different versions.
So far, we’ve only done Little Red Riding Hood (which, btw, I’m going to see the movie in March. Anyone want to come with? I don’t care if it’s a trainwreck! it looks interesting) and within that, we’ve read different versions.
My favorite is still James Thurber’s. Want to know why? Here’s the last two lines:
“So the little girl took an automatic out of her basket and shot the wolf dead. Moral: it is not so easy to fool little girls nowadays as it used to be”
