As you may or may not know, I was one of 1500ish entrants for the Month at the Museum contest for the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. I was not picked for the semifinals; however, I’m still pretty happy I entered. It was a great challenge, one that I basically forced myself to overcome shyness (yep, i’m shy) and fears, and with the help of some amazing friends (Adam and Nita, I’m looking at you two) I was able to finish everything up and send it in.
So, I didn’t make the semis. But I still won 4 passes to MSI! I have quite a few friends in the Chicago area that I haven’t seen in forever – or EVER for that matter. Yes, it’s only $60 worth of passes, but it’s the thought that counts.
Maybe if I can finally find a job (Over 750 applications sent since last November, if you’re reading this, Kansas Department of Labor!), I can take a small vacation, and go visit U-505 in person.
Now my next step is to continue writing here more often than I have been.
And y’know what? I should. Because it’s fun. And needs to happen.
Maybe I’ll just have to research what I want to do in Chicago (CUBS GAME CUBS GAME CUBS GAME CUBS GAME) – I’m sorry did you hear something? That was probably my inner 9 year old squealing.
