I should put some of my words here, but I fear it will be filled fast enough.
I’m a girl of many loves, of many talents, of many thoughts, minds, and actions.
I’m both luckier, and unluckier, than I should be in many various things.
I love to write. I love to travel. I LOVE reading. I own 6 cats – all fixed, all adopted or rescued. I collect many many things. I’m currently going mad about cameo necklaces, blue pens, and manual typewriters.
For now, one of my latest obsessions has been a band that I recently saw steal the stage from many of their other performers. The band’s name is Shinedown. I haven’t been this obsessed and excited about a CD since I saw the Swell Season and fell in love with “Fitzcarraldo” by The Frames. “The Sound of Madness” is full of songs I like, can get behind, and thoroughly enjoy. I’ve only seen Shinedown once (compared with seeing Bela Fleck and the Flecktones over 70 times), but I can guarantee that will rise.
Shinedown also has a personal feel too, as my boyfriend claims it’s one of His favorite bands. So yet another mutual band obsession that I can totally enjoy.
The band linked this video to their site a couple weeks back, and I feel it’s a great way to start this off. I probably feel a special attachment as Myrla means blackbird in French, and this song is called “The Crow and the Butterfly”.
Look for more posts soon, including my not forgotten, but had to be rewritten, NAB 2010 writeups!
